Many people ask “Why does Soul Survivor need to fundraise?” And it’s a good question! If you have been around Soul Survivor for a few year's you will also know that we often struggle financially... but why?
We do what we do not to make money but because we care passionately about young people meeting with Jesus and learning more about following Him in their everyday lives.
Many of the young people our events are aimed at are between 15-19 and studying and therefore have very little spare cash.
We’d hate for anyone who wants to come to our events to be excluded on the basis of not having enough money so we try and keep the costs of our conferences as low as possible.
On top of the summer conferences we run a number of events throughout the year such as the Soul Sista one-day conferences, tour dates and Soul Net events for youth leaders. We’re also working with seven international Soul Survivor centres around the world, investing in raising up new leaders and serving the church in areas of the world in which Christians are persectued for their faith.
In addition to all of this we are investing in Soul Action. We’d rather the money you give to Soul Action went to projects that are working with the last, the least and the lost, than on electricity bills, computers and staff here in the UK. This means that we share all of day-to-day running costs of Soul Action with our partner Tearfund, so everything you give goes straight to the projects themselves.
All in all, there’s lots to do. We don’t want to increase our booking fees to cover all that we want to do and so it'd be really amazing if people would stand with us and support the vision behind Soul Survivor by giving as little or as much as they can.
