Our mates over at Open Doors have just launched a brand new prayer resource to help you journal, read your Bible and pray over the course of seven days. It's pretty awesome, and free to download from their website too. Not only will it help you connect with God and get into the routine of chatting to him everyday, but it'll also help you get your head round praying for the church in bits of the world where following Jesus is forbidden. Check it out over at youth.opendoorsuk.org (and they have a shiny new website too)...

If you can't make the whole of Naturally Supernatural, then don't panic, you can still come for a single day or just an evening. We've just added evening and day tickets to our online shop, so if you're free on just one day or one evening of the event then we'd still love to see you.
Our four day Naturally Supernatural conference is all about learning to live naturally supernatural lives. We want to embrace the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and see God do amazing things in our churches and communities... The event runs from 15th-18th February (half term week) at the Soul Survivor Warehouse in Watford. You can get full details at the link below...

What's the best thing about exams? Finishing them... though the wait for results can be a bit of a stress too. This year, A-Level results day is the 16th August, which is the last day of Week C. So, we've come up with a bunch of ways to help all those expecting results to make sure they don't need to go home early and can get the info they need as quickly and easily as possible!

If you do, and have plenty of skills when it comes to Information Systems, databases and Microsoft development tools then you might just be the right person for us. We're on the look out for a new Information Systems manager, because sadly, Jeremy (the tallest man any of us know), is leaving the Soul Survivor team.

The first is from our good friend Rich Wilson, who works for Fusion. He's reflecting on how we can navigate some pretty intense transitions in our lives while keeping God at the centre of who we are. We've got a few more of these little video thoughts coming your way, so keep an eye out for them.

We've written loads about our upcoming Naturally Supernatural event in Eastbourne (on the 15th-18th February) and would absolutely love you, your youth group and your whole church to come along. Obviously if you can't make it, no worries, but we're becoming more and more convinced that equipping you and the wider church to rely on the Holy Spirit and use the Gifts that he gives in our daily lives is what God is asking us to do.
We're not talking about being weird, the HolySpirit is the way we know Jesus and he's the way in which God equips us to show love to our broken world... sometimes that's through practical action and kind words and sometimes it's through a word of knowledge or an answered prayer for healing.
Have a look through some of the questions we threw at Mike to see what he says on the subject. These aren't definitive answers, just some musings from the Pilav that we've edited into bitesized chunks. Questions include:
What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
Why do we need the Gifts of the Spirit?
Why don't we see God move?
You can scroll through the vids up there on our playlist!
As ever, we're on a journey, learning more about God's Spirit and the role he can play in our lives and communities, and we'd love you to join us as we learn and grow!

Uh oh. Dan's leaving Soul Survivor. Usually it's sad when people leave, but because Dan's been about since 2005 it's worse than sad... it's worrying. Why? Well none of us really know what he does, but he assures us it's very useful. From what we can work out, he makes a lot of tea and plays about with words and pictures.
So, as Dan is leaving, we need to fill his desk space. We're hoping we can find an equally nice person who gets how to write friendly words and make those words come to life on our websites, conference programmes, flyers and just about anything else we produce to communicate who we are and what we do.
This is a fun job. Probably the most fun in the Soul Survivor office as the right person will get to use a lovely iMac fairly reguarly. But it's not a doddle either. Our Communications Team are responsible for making sure the values of Soul Survivor, the message of Jesus and the events we run are all communicated in a relevant, interesting, fun and engaging way to thousands, if not millions, of people each year.
We're looking for the right person, someone committed to Soul Survivor, who'll help us communicate what we do and why in impressive, beautiful, clear and humble ways. They need to understand us, inside out, and most importantly be able to have a good laugh even when the pressure is on.
Could it be you? (It can't be that hard if Dan can do it...)

We just heard some sad news. Kurtis Waterman's Soul Survivor 2011 Week B wristband just feel off. Good job Kurtis on keeping on the annoying bit of plastic for over 4 1/2 months. That's a good effort. But there are plenty more of you out there that have stuck with it and still have your 2011 bands on (you've probably got sweaty/smelly wrists).
So, in honour of Kurtis' fallen wristband we're launching a little comp! We'd like to see evidence of everyone and anyone who still has their wristband on from our 2011 summer events. Bonus biscuits to anyone with a 2010 wristband on.
But wait, evidence includes a picture of you wearing the wristband next to something displaying the following date: 1st December (that's this Thursday).
All succesful band wearers who email pics to editor@soulsurvivor.com on (and only on) the 1st December will get a free seminar mp3 file sent their way.

Woooooo! We're just about to send our latest Soul Survivor Mini Mag to the printers... and once it's printed it'll be trying it's darndest to beat the Christmas post and find it's way through your letterbox. Yep, that's right friends, if you're a signed up punter on our database (and have ticked all the legally required boxes that mean Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg say we can send you stuff), then you'll be getting a special 'Naturally Supernatural' edition of the mag
in early December.
To whet your appetite have a look at the cover... Ooooh it's like an old Victorian Christmas isn't it? Well, kinda! We've also decided to try and be a little greener this time round, so the mag won't come to you in a little polybag... instead we've just whacked your address on the back page, stuck it all together with a little sticker and hope that the postal system (and the postman) don't get too confused (we're assured by people that know, that they won't).
If you don't get a copy, then don't panic, we'll upload the whole thing online so you can have a proper gander and read like everyone else!
So, there you have it, an early Christmas gift from us to you!

This is possibly the best thing we've ever had the privilege to be involved with. Yep, that's right. Mike P's personal fitness coach, Johannus Von Lycra the Third has worked with us to create what we've all been yearning for... a Worship Workout!
It's pretty epic, just check the promo... and the potential DVD, which will retails at just £299.99, means you may well be able to join Von Lycra as he sweats his way through some of the latest Soul Survivor live album tracks (if it ever gets made in full that is... Von Lycra has an extraordinarily busy schedule and fitting in a six day film shoot in his diary is more tricksy than trying to wrestle a lion. He's currently training Val Kilmer how to survive in the wilds of the Antarctic consuming only things they have caught with their bare hands).
Alternatively, to save a long wait, you could just buy the brand new Soul Survivor live album, 'We are the Free', which is now in stock at shop.soulsurvivor.com... Put it on loud and jump about 'til you feel sick and you'll get the same effect as a Von Lycra workout!

Our mates over at Open Doors are passionate about supporting the church in places around the world where Christians are persecuted. In all sorts of countries the church has to exist underground for fear of physical abuse,
political oppression or social exclusion. People are not free to worship, speak about Jesus or even pray for each other...
Like Open Doors, we know the gospel is revolutionary. It's counter cultural. It can change the world, and those who persecute people for following Jesus somehow know this too. So, we want to stand with or brothers and sisters around the world who suffer because of their commitment to Jesus.
So, for 48 hours, from 9pm Friday 4 to 9pm Sunday 6 November, join us to BLACKOUT from Facebook, Twitter, texts, iTunes, tv, gaming or literally keep your mouth shut, or whatever else you can think of!
Keep quiet for millions of Secret children living in the most hostile and restricted places on earth. Thirty million children pay a price for their faith; suffering, hurt, alone – criminalised for being Christians. They are the hidden victims of persecution. They have no happy ever afters, no fairy tale endings. Hear their story and share in their story. Help give Secret children their childhood back.

Jesus was pretty awesome. He did all sorts of miracles, saw people healed and spoke with authority. He had compassion, set people free and spoke up for the poor. He loved the unloved. Ultimately he revealed what God is like.
We're not Jesus, but the same spirit that raised him from the dead is in us (Romans 8v11). At Pentecost the Holy Spirit empowered and equipped the first followers of Jesus to do the same sort of stuff that Jesus did and for the same reason - to ultimately to reveal what God is like. We believe the same should be true today, and so we want to learn to let the Holy Spirit use us in our every day lives... we want to learn to be Naturally Supernatural, letting God's spirit work through us to reveal our amazing and loving Father!
This is a bit of a focus for us at Soul Survivor at the moment (to be honest it's been a bit of a focus since day one), but we've currently got quite a few resources online and events coming up that look at this idea of learning to be Naturally Supernatural! Check the links below and join us as we hope to grow to be more like Jesus:
Event one: Naturally Supernatural, Salford
27th-29th October
Hosted by Chris Lane and run by the lovely chaps at Langworthy Community Church. Featuring Mike P, Jeannie Morgan and a few others
All the info is here...
Event two: Naturally Supernatural, Eastbourne
15th-18th February

This year at Soul Survivor B&C we have our first ever dance battle competition, hosted by the awesome 29th Chapter and Underground crew!
Solo acts and crews will be battling it out for the title of Underground Dance Champion. Come down to help our panel of judges decide who should walk away with the trophy.
What the deal?
The competition will run on nights 3 and 5 at Soul Survivor Weeks B&C so that you’ve got some time to prep on site. Acts from each category will go head to head ‘til we whittle it down to the crème de la crème on the final night. Each round will be judged by you and our special guest panel of professional dancers (who will also be mentoring the various crews throughout the week).
Judging
Each act will be judged on the following criteria: originality, creativity, tightness & technical skill, acrobatic ability, humor & entertainment, diversity of styles, dress & costume and audience engagement. There will be 5 points up for grabs for each criteria.
The Prize!
As well as being crowned the Ultimate Underground dance battle champion, winning crews will also receive:
• A half day training session with one of our professional dance coaches (either where you live or in London).
• Underground goodie bag packed with treats and tasty underground prizes
• An opportunity to perform as backing dancer/support act for selected underground main stage acts.
• Guaranteed opening slot on the underground main stage for 2012
• An opportunity to perform as a backing act for our secret celebrity artists
Sounds awesome right? Well then, get practicing and we'll see you down there!

OK, so, if you book and pay in full before 11.59pm on Friday 29th April then you'll qualify for the discounted price of £91 at any of our summer events.
After this date, online bookings rise to £99 and bookings we receive via email/fax/phone will be charged at £104.
We know that booking can be a pretty stressful experience, especially if you're a group leader and trying to collate information
from 30 different people (all of whom are teenagers and haven't provided you with any correct information about themselves). Even more stressfully, as it's the Royal Wedding and we've been given a bumper bank holiday weekend, the office will be closed. So here's some advice:
1) Try to not leave everything to the last minute (as if we can really give that advice!!). We'll be in the office Tuesday 26th 'til Thursday 28th, so if you have problems try calling us then.
2) We've tried to answer the most common queries in our Frequently Asked Questions section. Make sure you check it out.

OK, so there's this rumour doing the rounds that in summer we sort of mentioned on Facebook that if anyone manages to keep their Soul Survivor (or Momentum) event wristband on until Christmas then we'll give them a little prize. Unfortunately we forgot we said that, hence our overall lack of doing anything about it.
But fear not, we've now remembered! So, here's the idea.
If you still have your Soul Survivor Wristband on we'll reward you with a free mp3 (probably of Mike singing some Christmas tunes, but we're not sure yet). As we won't actually be in the office at Christmas, we're saying that if you manage to keep your wristband on til the 20th December, then you're a winner!
To enter and have a chance of winning, you need to do the following:
1) Take picture of yourself with your wristband and a newspaper dated 20th December or later.
2) Email that picture to us at editor@soulsurvivor.com between 20th and 22nd December.
In reward for your dillegence and stubborn wearing of the Soul Survivor Wristband, we'll email you back with a link to your free mp3!
No photoshopping, cheating or scamming please (that includes the use of sellotape). We might not find out, but Jesus will, so play by the rules.

Hooray, hooray, hooray! We get to add another person to our office team in Watford... which is always a pretty momentous occasion, especially as most of us don't get out much and new people are just so much fun!
The role we're looking to fill has something to do with numbers, counting and money. Our legendary accountant Mark (pictured) is looking for a young paduwon he can train in the ways of the force (which basically means wearing shorts no matter what the weather and cultivating a Tom Selleck inspired moustache). The chosen candidate will be about to help Mark out with some basic book keeping and such like.
To check if you're right for the role, see if you can solve the following GCSE exam paper inspired conundrum:
John and Michael go to the shops. John has £5.50 and buys 10 apples for 13p each. He travels from his house in a perpendicular line parallel to the vertical for 15 minutes before sitting down and having a snack. If Y is eternity, what is X?

Our mates over at Open Doors Youth have teamed with Preacher Boy Missions to produce the awesome hip hop single 'Comin for you', in aid of persecuted Christians!
The artists involved are Jahaziel, Guvna B, New Direction Crew, E Tizz, McGladius from 29th Chapter, Armor MC, and S.O. The song was produced by Grammy-nominated and award winning producer Steven G.P. Abramsamadu. These artists are coming together to raise awareness and encourage Christians to make a stand and take action against the injustice of those suffering from religious persecution.
Rapper Jahaziel who's performed at Soul Survivor a few times, went on a trip to aid the persecuted in Pakistan and said:
“Meeting with Christian brothers and sisters in Pakistan who’ve lost homes, family, and their freedoms for following Jesus is the starkest reminder I have ever experienced of what the Gospel of Jesus means. Their horrific plight inspired me to want to be on this track with other artists to give these people a voice.”

Listen up yo! October's Saturday Celebration (our monthly free event in Watford) was rammed. We had around 1,000 people stroll on down to join us at the Warehouse and we were pretty close to having to turn people away (but we didn't as we're nice and turning people away just isn't in our blood). If you came, thanks for coming, especially if you travelled far... apparently some of you came from as far away as Wales, which is a whole other nation, so that's quite impressive.
Anyway, at the time Mr Michael Pilavachi got slightly excited and suggested we might need to find an alternative venue for our future Saturday Celebrations (like Wembly Arena). Although that'd be fun, we think we've found a solution which means the events can stay in Watford! Hooray! So, we're sticking with the Soul Survivor Watford Warehouse (No. 5), but if necessary we'll also run a overflow venue in Warehouse 7. That sounds sensible doesn't it?
Anyway, the next one is on 27th November and we're hoping loads of you pop along to join us, we'd love to see you!

This is one of our favourite videos ever, all courtesy of our mates at worshipcentral and the legend that is Martin Smith!
Have a watch - and all future worship leaders take note - if you want to lead on the keys, make sure you know where the drum pattern demo button is.
Don't forget the upcoming worshipcentral tour, where we hope Tim, Ben or Al will make equally hilarious blunders! Also, don't forget to book for SoulNet or the Momentum weekend before Sunday to make sure you get a discount!

Yes, it's Friday, that means we have some fun for you! Here's the final stripped down demo version of one of the big tracks from the summer!
Jamie, Tom and Beth have finished up in the studio and as we're getting excited about the new live album we thought you might like to hear this version of the title track 'Light the Sky'.
It's quite chilled, so take a few minutes out, put your headphones on and sing along. We like it, so we hope you do too.
You can also check out some other tunes on the radio, so have a listen....

Yo, yo, yo! The worshipcentral posse are getting ready to pack their bags and head off around the UK for a few awesome nights at different churches across the land!
Don't miss out, the events are looking ace and feature the whole team of Tim Hughes, Ben Cantelon (our old faves), Al Gordon (who's looking increasing trendy) and the lovely Nikki Fletcher. The dates are:
10th November: Southampton
11th November: Bristol
12th November: Bradford
13th November: Edinburgh
Check out the worshipcentral site for all the info and to book tickets. Hopefully we'll bump into some of you there!

Wohooo! We're pleased with ourselves for this one. Tom and Jamie have got on down to some serious hard work and recorded a demo version of their song 'Praise Overflows'. It was one of the most popular songs of the summer events so we figured you'd like to have a listen. It's not the final version you'll hear on the live album (which we're very excited to say is coming out in about a month), but it's a more stripped down interpretation. We like it and hope you do too. We think we can also say (in a kind of cheesy overly excited radio presenter kind of way) that you heard
it here first... and probably won't hear it many other places either, so tell your mates and send the link around!
Have a listen on the radio over there, or if you fancy listening away for the rest of the day visit our radio page to launch the radio as a little pop out player (there's an awesome remix of a remix on there that we did in the office a while back when we got bored... it might make you laugh... or maybe not)!

Anyway, enjoy it, and scroll down a few posts to download the chord charts for the song....

Thinking of coming along to our Momentum Weekender or the SoulNet retreat? Both are coming early in 2011 and we're getting pretty excited about spending a couple of weekends in the lovely countryside surroundings of Center Parcs!
We know money is a bit tight for everyone, so to help your wallets we have a special booking offer! If you book and pay in full for either the SoulNet Retreat or Momentum Weekend before the 31st October you can save £10. That means the full price is only £115 per person. Remember, you have to book and pay in full before the deadline to get the reduced price.
So you know, spaces for both events are limited and the Momentum Weekend is already looking pretty busy, so do book early to avoid disappointment!

Fancy a read? The free Soul Survivor online Mag is back after a slight bit of slack planning and summer hectic-ness that meant September's edition was actually August's. Sorry about that, we're not sure how many of you actually noticed, but still, we felt bad. Really bad. So bad that we've pulled out all the stops in our very autumnal October edition. This month you can read:
Mike P on worship and lament...
Advice on coping when you get dumped...
Some biblical stuff on the fruit or gifts of the spirit...
Life in Haiti, 9 months after the earthquake...
Plus, listen to Andy Croft on ways to grow with God...
But that's not all. You can win a copy of our brand new live album and check out some of our fave vids that you've made from the summer. Bonza!

We're sure you've heard already, but if not here's the scoop... Our good mates at LZ7
are releasing their awesome single 'Shine Your Light' into the UK charts as of this Sunday!
We're hoping that their message of being Jesus in the places where we're at goes down a storm on iTunes and gets some recognition on the radio! Linz and the LZ7 posse have been doing shows left, right and center in preparation of the release, and if you want to see them in action get to the Manchester Apollo tomorrow (25th September) for the party of a lifetime. It's gonna be off the chain (as they say).
If you can't make it, no worries, check the new full HD video of the single up there and make sure you bag your copy of 'Shine Your Light' on Sunday (if you're super keen you can even pre order it)!

We're already missing the summer. We work all year to put on the events and then they fly by like there's no tomorrow. Bummer hey? Well, this might make you feel better!
The lovely Beth Croft has also been missing the summer events and so she nipped into the studio to record a pretty nice sounding version of 'Found In You', the track she's written with Tim Hughes.
It's cheering us up, so we thought we'd share... Have a listen on the radio over there, and if you fancy listening away for the rest of the day visit our radio page to launch the radio as a little pop out player!

But that's not all. Beth's been on the case and sorted out some chord charts for some of the new songs that we sang this summer. Download them for free below to use and learn in your churches... and let us know how you get on. We can't keep the chord charts up for too long, so make sure you nab them now!

Unfortunately as we don't own the copyright to the other songs we can't give away the chord charts, but you can buy a few online. Kingsway are selling downloads of Ben Cantelon's 'Saviour Of The World' for just 75p so that isn't too bad! You can grab that here...
A few more demo's are on their way, so check back soon for some other new sounds!

Missing Soul Survivor already? If you're back at home we hope you're not too sad! We hope you're still going for it with God, praying with your mates, spending time worshipping him, waiting on his spirit, reading your Bible and living out all the stuff you've learnt wherever you live! That's what Soul Survivor is all about!
But it's good to look back, so here's a few photos from the past few days to help you remember all that stuff that went on whilst you were with us... from communion in the main meeting to some sports tournaments and - of course - a night with Mr Boogies!
